Question Amphetamine Precursors Legal US?

I'm looking at the DEA's special surveillance list, and it seems every amphetamine precursor chemical offered here is known and watched.

Are there any that are absolutely for sure not on any lists?

Benzaldehyde is quite easy to synthesize, and then you can make glycidate from it with conversion to BMK, or get nitroethane yourself and make phenylnitropropene.

Diethyl phenylacetyl malonate is on the DEA special surveillance list, unfortunately.

It is looking like benzaldehyde is my best option as benzyl alcohol is easily bought, and one has a couple pathways to choose from. Benzaldehyde is known to be a precursor, but of course benzyl alcohol is not, so that works.
