Chamomile tea, or passionflower tea.
Maybe valerian root tea.
These help, a little, I have really bad anxiety.

But as far as actual synthesis of benzodiazepines, it's very hard. There is a video in the video section here, on making flunitrazolam or something like that...but there is no shake-and-bake for making Valium or Xanax, not even a 2- or 3-step process...they're hard.

Yes, it's legal to take antidepressants if they are prescribed to you by a licensed medical provider—typically a psychiatrist, general practitioner, or another healthcare professional with prescribing rights. Taking them without a prescription is potentially dangerous and can be illegal. If you're looking for alternatives or adjuncts, here are some clinically-supported ways to manage depression or anxiety attacks—either alongside or instead of medication, depending on severity and cause:

Therapeutic Approaches
  1. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Proven effective for both depression and anxiety.
  2. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) – Helps manage intrusive thoughts and panic symptoms.
  3. Trauma-informed therapy – If anxiety or depression stem from past trauma, this can be key.
Non-Prescription Aids
  • L-theanine (found in green tea, calming)
  • 5-HTP or SAM-e (precursors to serotonin)
  • Magnesium glycinate (supports relaxation, especially if deficient)
  • Ashwagandha (an adaptogen that may reduce cortisol levels)
Lifestyle Interventions
  • Sleep regulation: Crucial for mood stabilization.
  • Regular movement: Aerobic exercise releases endorphins and supports neurogenesis.
  • Nutrition: Omega-3s, complex carbs, and a Mediterranean-style diet have shown antidepressant effects.
  • Avoidance of psychoactive triggers: Substances like alcohol, THC (weed), and stimulants can worsen anxiety/depression in many people, especially if you're prone to mood swings or panic.

I use weed for anxiety and pain, but trying to control pain with extremely large amounts of edibles causes (me) worse anxiety.

Yes, you can legally takes drugs to treat anxiety.

Benzodiazapines are commonly prescribed for anxiety. Eg Clonipin, Ativan, and Xanax (which is both antianxiety and antidepressant).

Benzodiazapines should be used under the care of a physician, *especially when long term use is required, as they are habit forming drugs, and pose other health risks as well.

Benzodiazapines can potentiate certain other medications/drugs.

Exercise, talk therapy, and certain therapeutic techniques can also be helpful in treating anxiety.

It's important to honest about the root causes of anxiety.

Have this discussion with your Dr, please. It's ok to ask for help.
